There is one thing about me and my ~belief system~
that i reaLLy must confeSS...
i actually don't ~believe~ with any kind of 'blind faith'
Such as with the olde school text-book ~Believer~
You see i have this ~deal~ with God
(and i really can't sEE why it shouldn't be so!)
(i have been born afteral into the age of science)
that everything that might be considered slightly 'out there'
(to my rational mind)...
Be ~sent~ with #3 clear and indisputable confirmations...
Example (1) Reiki... the transferring from one-to-another of Healing Energy:
My cousin is a Reiki Master:
She lives in Sydney and i live in Melbourne (different states)
When she teaches Reiki 2 (Which is the art of ~sending~ healing)
She will sms me: "Are you free on such-and-such date, as i have ~this~many students in class"
i check my calender and gather for that date some "non~believers" of such stuff & non-sense
(Because this is the FUN bit!) and on that said date we gather together wherever it is convenient for the group which usually consists of me and 3 or 4 others...
Sometimes it is at my house & sometimes one of the other participants...
It doesn't really matter ~where as all my cousin requires of us is a phone number and my participants first names...
And so we begin, she rings me and takes down the names, and says in so many minutes we will begin and hangs up...
Meanwhile we (my little group) sit comfortably and relax...
some may sit on the floor, or upright on a chair, or legs out prostrate on a couch
and we sit quietly and simply discuss how our bodies are fEELing...
Nothing, nothing... and then ALWAYS someone will say...
(Without fail... which never ceases to amaze me!)
"Oh" (usually a little surprised) i don't know if this is anything but...
i have a tingling in my right leg, a feeling of heat in my right arm, a light-headed-ness...
It's always different... so anyway we just sit and sometimes giggle at our 'silliness'
and wonder if we are not just 'imagining' it all
and wait for the telephone to ring...
and it ALWAYS rings AFTER each one of us has made some kind of comment about some feeling or another in some part of our bodies (funny that!)
We always make sure that we discuss with each other what we have felt BEFORE the phone rings and then EVERY ~TIME yes every-single time, without fail...
My cousin will ring (on speaker phone, so her students can hear)
and she will introduce each student and they will discuss with their interstate partner
what they felt as they were sending the healing...
and EVERY single time without fail the two will correspond...
and sometimes it is just so amazing
that now i am running out of non~believers (To experiment with!)
Often the discussion will go like THIS...
Interstate student: i felt a slight dizziness and felt drawn to move to your right leg
and as i was working there i had an image of you in hospital (For example)...
and sure enough the participant will have already spoken while sitting and relaxing of those VERY THINGS and then usually they will say something like "Oh that was the leg i had a childhood operation on that has co-incidentally been giving me trouble this past week...
Sometimes the comments from interstate will be quite complex
and at other times simply a confirmation of some illness or another...
But ALWAYS the experiment is interesting and ALWAYS the non-believer says on the way out (usually after a cup of tea) "Give me a ring if you need an extra person next time!"
And why is this so? Because the side benefit of this little experiment is that Reiki ~Heals~ tOO

I just started having Reiki to help me with my PTSD. I LOVE it. It's is amazing what interconnecting with a trained, caring person in this manner can do for you. The feeling of warmth, and energy, thoughts, and smells, and memories that surface. All of which opened healing energy to my body, mind and spirit. Good stuff this Reiki! I believe! I believe!

Someone did Reiki on me once, and said she was getting disturbing vibes. I thought she had disturbing vibes too, but I didn't say anything.
Another time, someone loaned me a
Reiki training video. It reminded me of a therapeutic touch class I took in 1987. Everyone--in the class--said I was gifted at it, but they were all women, and I suspected they just thought I was cute. I thought they were cute too, but I didn't say anything--I'm the strong silent type as you well know.
That's why you and I get along. You're beautiful, and I'm strong and silent. What a combination. Maybe you can send healing energy my way sometime. I'll tell you when it arrives (maybe you could project it as an identifiable plant or object). I had just as soon it come when I'm awake, but there could be a lag, I suppose, what with you living thousands of miles from here, so I won't raise hell if it wakes me up. I'm awake much of the night anyway.
P.S. I don't know what all the symbols, letters, and numbers mean--nothing weird, I hope.
Fascinating. Since I live with pain and PTSD this really interests me. How awesome to have such a gift as this in which to bring healing to people.
I love Reiki. It is the only form of healing that can be used in every aspect of your life. Even when I cook, I hold the ingredients in my hands for just a fraction of a sec, and let the energy infuse. I really believe thats the reason we are all relatively healthy. I even use reiki when planting and tending animals.
Reiki saved the life of more than one animal in this house.
Smiles-Reiki is natural & we all exchange it, it's just some of us do it more consciously than others.
Angela- i agree, i have been giving it every time i pat my neighbors very old dog, he loves it & so did my cat when he was ill... i know my husband does it when he cooks (because he loves to cook) & i think that you can always taste it in the fOOd (It tastes better!)... i have taught my children that it is a natural gift & their Reiki is the BEST of all! X:-)

(Ps) Now don't go all superstitious on me, or they'll be burning me at the stake next! Lol!
Nothing has arrived yet unless it landed where I didn't see it. I picture myself suddenly receiving an overwhelming and clear picture of some healing object--like a flower or a little red table. Or maybe you could send words of reassurance, poetry, or a song.
You see when people tell me about stuff being psychically transmitted, I want to be in on that too. The kind of things you believe, I would be gungho to believe many of them. Just give me some rationale.
I mentioned Therapeutic Touch. People in my class could feel things that seemed strangely intuitive, but then what did it mean? Do you remember the young teenage experimenter who had therapeutic touch practitioners give their impressions of clients while blindfolded? They came out with all kinds of diagnoses, but the problem was there were no patients. The practitioners had just been moving their hands through the air without anyone being present.
