Brought to you by the eGG board...

Next time you buy an egg...
please spare a thought for the battery hens producing them
because this is what they really actually look like...
when they are not ~Free Range~

They look like they have been in Auschwitz
they are nervous and thin
they are lacking most of their feathers
and their poor bottoms are swollen, red and featherless too

They do not know what a worm is, their beaks are clipped
and they walk like ballerina's with broken toes
My lovely friend and neighbor Marita (The Jumper Lady)
has saved these half dozen girls from a local Chicken farm
to give them a chance at a better life...

And as i sat with them them today
i marvelled at just how trusting they still were
even though their whole lives have been nothing but bars
above and below...

But what totally melted my heart
was to watch them dig little holes in the dirt
and ~bathe~ themselves in Mother Earth
and ~sun~ themselves... for the first time in their lives

Oh Lordy! God Bless the little chooks of our worlde
that WE may make a difference...
Save a chicken today and only eat haPPy eGGs
for surely they be full of ~LovE~
and isn't that they way it's supposed to be?

I love how you see things. With your big heart!

Isn't it frightening where our food comes from these days? I don't know what is really safe and truly nutritious anymore. It's terrible what we do to the animals, and the land, and the plants, the air and water. No wonder so many of us get sick.

I hope you are well.
:0)
Hugs,
Angela

It is time to change the world...I don't know how we got here, treating the earth and animals like we do...I'm moving to a farm and growing my own food...

much love

This is why I have my own chooks. We saved some from a battery farm, and we had to teach them to walk on the grass and how to roost at night.
It was very sad.But it only took a week and they were like normal chickens again and rewarded us with many years of yummy eggs.

I adore chickens, until i lived where i do now, I always had chickens, they love cuddles, they have different and distinct personalities and they are sweet little feather friends. I only buy happy eggs and have for as long as i can remember. Please give those beautiful little ladies a hug from me and tell you gorgeous neighbor THANK YOU. she is wonderful :) and so are you :)

I wonder if there's a way out, eat what we want to, but not hurt anyone in the process?

This story is unreal. I think you are an angel for posting it and doing something. These things are happening more than people know. So many people only want to hear the pretty things in life. If we are only willing to hear the nice side, how does the ugly side ever get repaired.
