i didn't know what to expect (having not experienced it before)...
and went on the advice of my Naturopath
who thought it might help with the pain i've been experiencing in my back
i also spoke with my GP and Surgeon and they both thought it would be a good idea (Aren't i lucky to have such progressive docs!)
before i perhaps leap into tests more invasive (on their advice)

The therapist's name was Katherine
and she was funny and kind and gentle
i felt i could trust her right away
and i sent out a quiet prayer of Thanks to the Universe
as she took me on a journey through my body
...to my soul

As her feather~like touch intuitively found my areas of pain
and she spoke in tones soft and hushed
i found myself drifting into areas of emotional rain
and a shift became gentle and un-rushed
i heard my heart speak so that my mind could hear me
of this hurting buried deep within my flesh
of pain and it's root cause within me
and those bruises still throbbing and fresh
And as her hands burned with a beautiful intensity
the tears were brought to my eye
as i felt love pour with such a divinity
and my breathe became just a sigh

Your pain is not death come to take you
your pain is not paying your dues
this pain is simply the place from where you once flew
with wings that were many a hue
So fly my dear child while you can now
as my breeze is there for your support
and the time is right when you know how
and the battle is both won and fought
Then i heard whispered "She's afraid to make the leap
and fear grabs her hand each time she tries...
She needs to let go of the things that will bind her
before it buries her beyond in the deep"
And so my thoughts now wonder on the reality
as i ponder upon my Dad's words from her lips
should i trust what the Angels are telling me
before the time to make a move again shifts?

Am i *really* THAT afraid ~to fly~ ?

Bowen Therapists Federation of Australia (BTFA)
Bowen Therapy is a holistic and multidimensional approach to pain relief and healing that has achieved remarkable results over the past 50 years. It is based on the recognition by Tom Bowen, its originator, who lived and practiced in Geelong, Victoria, that the underlying cause or source of many musculoskeletal, neurological, neuromuscular and other health or pain problems could be found in the soft tissue or fascia. Fascia is a specific type of connective tissue that forms a three dimensional web surrounding every tissue in the body. Fascia is the body organiser embracing all nerves, bones, arteries, veins and muscles. Therefore fascial dysfunction can affect every structure, muscle, nerve and organ in the body. Fascia has become the subject of increasing research and recent studies have shown it to be the largest sensory organ in the body. It is rich in a range of receptors that powerfully influence the body's neuro-muscular physiology in many and complex ways as can be seen in the Bowen Studies section.
Bowen Therapy, through specific soft tissue or fascial release and integration techniques, stimulate specific receptors that enable the body itself to correct dysfunctions and restore homeostasis (balance) on a holistic level. Through treating the cause rather than the symptoms Bowen Therapy has consistently shown it can have profound and permanent healing and pain relief outcomes. This relief is experienced by many people who present with a wide range of painful conditions, even where other modalities or treatments have resulted in transient or little improvement. Importantly, Bowen Therapy, being holistic, does not rely on a detailed diagnosis of the problem and its origins, which is often costly and indeterminate. Bowen Therapy treats the whole body, and its holistic effects are apparent in patients who find resolution to problems above and beyond those for which they have sought treatment, for example lack of energy, stress or emotional issues.

WOW...... sounds heavenly.... so happy it helped you!!!
And thanks for the info. I have heard of it, but never looked into it. You, my dear, have sparked an interest.
xoxoxo
Yes I know about that. I wish more insurances would pay for that kind of therapy. I know it does if you go within a Physical Therapy Establishment. There are a world of people who could have this kind of help if insurance, instead just paying for drugs. Don't get me started on that subject.

Thank you Katherine for your beautiful and healing work on my dear friend who deserves so much.
hi katherine, this is new learning for me here. i had never heard of bowen therapy. it's sometimes difficult to get the various players of health care to speak the same language and amazingly, this seems to have happened here!!! have a peaceful day. steven
That sounds like one hell of a massage! Great pics!
All kind of healing procedure should be performed in an atmosphere of peace and relaxation. I've live through total nightmare with myself and my family where they have being treated with utmost disrespect. Most alternative medicine is holistic and spiritual. I wish to go to a body therapist that is kind and loving, I know I carry a lot of sadness and resentment in my body. Thought the photo of the stepping stones over the body of water was my spine, my vertebrae being heled, I suffer from lower back pain. I'm checking all about Bowen Therapy .
Blessings to you Vicki xxoo
