Vicki, your board book is fantastic!!! What a great story. Your drawings are so cute (I don't see any problem with faces). It is a real inspiration for me. Thankyou so much for posting it. I would love to have a closer look. Do you have the individual photos anywhere?

The animals in the boat are priceless.

I hope you are going to send that to Suzi blu. It would be a real shame if she didn't get to see it.

Thank you DeeDee X:-)
I just love little stories about people's lives... Like teenie little time warps... I just need to work on the art work side (As kind as you are about mine X:-)... To look at the individual art work uhhmmm perhaps on photo bucket where l saved it? Can you search in there? I'm not really sure (I'm still a novice... I'm nollyposh in there too)... x

I was able to look as much as I wanted on photobucket. I love the story idea and the way you put it together with painted bits and cut out bits and other stuff. Really well thought out.

I am a bit stuck on mine. I was rushing forward but while I prefer your story idea, mine just keeps wanting to be a personal history thingie.

Nollyposh, I adore you already! I love your book and your creativity. I've not done any art for probably two weeks but this weekend I hope I will get to do my board book. Too much other stuff in the way : (

Hugs and kisses to you!

Hey Jonna X:-) Thanks for popping in and for your kind words... I just luv writing little simple stories about people... I guess that is what attracted me to Suzi's work... She is the master! I hope to improve and not be such a perfectionist as it just gives art a 'harsh' edge when you are like that and that annoys me! I like a more soft gentle and insightful approach... Just gotta keep practising... Just gotta X;-)

DaisyCH&L's YOu! X:-) Thankyou X:-) Did l tell you already that l am vegan too? (Just checkin out your tofu scramble blog entry!)
Doncha just hate it when "life" gets in the way of your aRT! I sympathsise and sometimes wish that we could just "pop" a pill for mealtimes so that l had more time for my ART!!! But then again what would the point of this luscious life be then? (As Suzi Blu-zy is always reminding us!) But really l guess we should remember that our "lives" are our fodder for aRT and therein lies the magic... Can't wait to see what Suzi's current journey will bring up in her aRT? *Hugs* 'n xxxxx's back to ya x

I am so happy to meet another vegan. I keep gently prodding people I know to go in the same direction but without much success. Oh, well, at least I can say I planted a seed.

Suzi has already posted some sketches that are adorable. I am happy she is still working on her art. You know, I met with Suzi during her brief stay in Virginia a couple of times. Once we had tea when I picked up a painting she did for me and once we exchanged an art lesson for a dance lesson. You know what I learned about Suzi in that brief time? 1. She lives and breathes for her art. 2. She is very generous with her knowledge and techniques. We did some painting together and she told me to practice and even to copy her drawings if I wanted as a way to help me improve. That shows me how secure and unselfish she is with her art. Some people like to keep their "secrets" and not share them but just as it is in dance, there is nothing new under the sun. All the steps have been done before, you just have to make them your own. I consider myself more of a crafter and am only able to call what I do "art" because of Suzi--I really appreciate her for that. I wish her the best. (and YOU the best!)
<3
Hugs!

Hey Thanks DaisyCH&L's, That is a beautiful insight into the lovely Suzi and l'm so glad to hear that my instincts about her were right X:-) I think the mark of a "true" artist is in fact their ability (and generosity of spirit) to share of themselves and their art unafraid... It is soooo true that art is in fact just 'old' ideas rehashed with your personal twist/stamp on it... Thankyou chickie for this beautiful reminder and story... It has made my day! (I'd love to see an art/diary entry on it!) X:-* Vicki x

Vicki, thanks for popping by my site. Your board book is fantastic! Love the colors and the variety of items you used to decorate it. I only bought mine bought my books today (always the last one on the bandwagon :)) but I hope to sand and gesso it tomorrow. Not sure what I'll do after that. Prolly a story about nuns ;). Anyway, great blog. I'll be back often to check it out!
