Searching For The Bluebird Of Happiness:
There once was a gypsy girl as cute as could be,
Who bought an old boat and set out for the sea.
She was looking for new friends, bright colors and tea,
But what she found were cages, So she set them all free!
She gave them all tofu, some paint and her hEART,
and she prayed to the heavens that she'd given them a start.
For she had dreams, and wished upon stars,
That no-one would have sorrow and have lives without bars.
And l heard a whisper that she actually has wings,
and THAT'S why she wears candy and faerie rings.
So if you hear late one night from a faraway place,
Some carousel music that makes your heart race...
Then get yourself ready, for they say l have heard,
That Suzi brings the "happiness" of the mythical BLU-bird!
Inspired by the movie of the same name and one of my favorites from childhood:
"...In an imaginary faerie-tale setting, the son and daughter of a woodcutter are sent out by a faerie to search all of the world for the "Bluebird of Happiness"... The children visit the ends of the earth; the Land of Memory, the Palace of Night, and the Kingdom of the Future... Only when the children return home do they discover that the Bluebird has been in their cage all the time. They decide to give the bird away to an ailing neighbor and the bird flies away...
True happiness, the children learn, is usually found close to home. It comes from making the journey, not from reaching the destination. Happiness, as the moral of the story imparts, comes from seeking rather than finding. Happiness comes from an unselfish life, without thought or motive of reward." ..."The traditional Bluebird is known as the bird found close to home."

Thanks for the visit to my blog and the very nice comments about my art. I can't wait until Suzi teaches my how she shades faces as well. I took an online class with Paulette Insall on how to shade faces and it was sooooo helpful. I know by looking at Suzi's videos that she does it differently so I can't wait!!! She is the one who inspired me to pick up a paint brush. She is so great!!!!!
