On this side of the worlde...

We welcome the Winter Solstice...
and in my local community it is with a ~Lantern Parade~



There is singing from local community groups



and music from local school bands and musicians



and belly dancing too



and ~everyone~ joins in...



...and the cold feels warm for a while

Perhaps, more would be made of the winter solstice here in the northern hemisphere if the church hadn't imposed Christmas over it. As things stand, I would be surprised if more than half of the population even know what a solstice is.

Waiting here for summer solstice. Green valley, lots of birds, end of school. Ah, yes.
