We keep thinking the world is shrinking, until I read tributes like this and realize it's still a massive planet we live on.
Don wasn't known at all here in Canada, but from your post, it seems I missed the opportunity to meet someone special.
How often a celebrity that we have known or listened to for years, passes and leaves us with a melancholy feeling. We mark our lives sometimes by the voices we knew and admired and often loved. I did not know of him either but the one that really got me in the US was Tim Russet, one of the finest on Sunday's Meet the Press. He wasn't in the entertainment business but his news approach was so honest and unbiased.
