REPORT: Massive hepatomegaly, measuring 22cm superoinferiorly, demonstrated intense uptake (SUV Max 8.79) throughout the entire liver. There is a small focus of increased uptake in the body of pancreas, which may be a pancreatic or peripancreatic nodal depasit. No other site of abnormal uptake is evident...
CONCLUSION: The scan findings are consistant with diffuse hepatic metastasis and a focal pancreatic or peripancreatic nodal metastasis.
GOOD NEWS: Tracer distribution in the lung, spleen, adrenals and bone marrow is within normal limits!!!
TREATMENT DECISION: Oral chemotherapy: Xeloda (Capecitabine) 500g
(4 pills with brekky and 4 with dinner, 2wks on and 1wk off...indefinitely)
*FEELINGS & PLAN: I'll be honest i haven't been well and have been 'couch bound' again... Have had probs with vomiting and diarrhea, which has now calmed...
Before i take my pills i Reiki them (ie) Bless them...
My husband has taken 2 wks off and plans to help me begin a juicing routine...
i feel i am still in with a good chance... My cancer markers (blood) are high again but not a high as in the beginning... My doc says she has another patient successfully on the same oral chemo for 2 years now, so i think to myself... "Why not me too?"
...And so the work begins again

So sorry that you've been feeling very much *down* - and glad you are doing as well as possible now. Indefinitely on dose of chemo - hopefully it will keep you going for many a year now; good for you Vicki.
My daughter will be going to a London neurosurgeon next Friday for a 'second opinion'. Her local neurologist is USELESS and Clare is going to lodge a formal complaint about his abject attitude to Clare's illness. She is so upset about this lack of progress - it is now 7 months since her tumour was discovered and the ONLY treatment, (just started) is some epilepsy tabs (Keppra). Disgraceful treatment.
