Yesterday i went to begin my first treatment
only to discover that the radiation will
touch my heart...
i was upset and asked to speak with the radiologist
He reassured me that the damage will be minimal
and he would do the same treatment on himself
should he ever be in my situation
He looked me in the eye when he said that...
so i returned to the waiting area
to begin... i felt like crying...
and then i looked up and on a shelf over the nurses station
were a whole bunch of thank you cards from patients...
and right in the middle was one with a ~Dragonfly~ on it...
~Everything will be okay~
...she whispered to me
and so i went in...

I don't know how you do it Miss Vicki. You are really my inspiration. I mean that. I write to you from my classroom..after a hard day...and I think, multiple times during my day--how would Vicki face obstacles--where would Vicki pull the strength. Hi Vicki, hang in there with the radiation, it will do you so much more good than harm. I find out on dec 3 if I have to have some too, tho I think I am fine.
