Yesterday we went to the "Prom"...

Wilsons Promontory or 'The Prom', as it is fondly called, is one of Victoria’s best-known attractions at the southern most point of mainland Australia. Renowned for its spectacular scenery, the 50,000 hectare national park features magnificent and secluded beaches, cool fern gullies, great views, spectacular rock formations and an abundance of wildlife.

Its 130 kilometre coastline is framed by granite headlands... Tidal River, 30 kilometres inside the park boundary, is the focus for tourism and recreation. The park contains the largest coastal wilderness area in Victoria...

As you know my Lara broke her elbow and as a result, her surgeon recommended that she not attend her grade 6 school camp at this beautiful nature reserve X:-( Coincidently one of her girlfriends was in the same boat having done a serious injury to her leg... So Patrick took the day off work and 3 hours later, with little friend in tow we arrived... sigggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh...

...and there is NO better place to relax and recharge, and here are a few photo's of our day...
(Ps) Lara and i have been busy filling our days this week with some FUN activities so that she is not missing out on something special tOO! (If you are wondering where we have bEEn!)
...and do you know what!?! After our really lOOOOng day (Leaving home at 7am and eventually arriving home at 2am) My gorgeous eldest child ~Tamsyn~ had done aLL of my ironing, tidied up Lara's rOOm (and THAT was no small feat!) tidied up around the house and left a treat of doughnuts (from her after school job at a bakery) in the fridge... i'll nEvEr know what i did to deserve that amazing child of mine ~Thankyou~ my beautiful daughter ~i love you tOO~

...and this last little pic
that the girls drew in the sand
...says it all i think X:-)

Thank you for your post and the photos - takes me back to the 4 years my family got to live in Australia. We were in Mt.Eliza - and I went to Toorak College. In sixth grade my class got to go to Phillips Island and stay overnight - it was a wonderful time with friends and watching those little fella's waddle up to the beach. Glad you got to get out with your daughter and her friend.
