So what about this:
Doctors sound alarm on pig flu
- Julia Medew
- April 27, 2009
"AUSTRALIANS have been urged to look out for symptoms of a deadly swine flu that appears to have spread from Mexico to New Zealand, France and the US, sparking fears of a major pandemic.
Australia's chief medical officer Jim Bishop briefed hospital emergency departments and GPs on the flu's symptoms at the weekend after the World Health Organisation warned it was a "public health emergency of international concern".
Hmmmm...
WELL thank gOOdneSS Pigs really can't fly! (Although humans can!)
AND wild ducks (who can potentially spread this too)
Shall we *panic*?
Probably won't help...
Maybe some extra vitamin C won't hurt though
We can but mind our individual health and that of our families
Mind, body and soul has always my policy...
Good health needs to be addressed on all three levels, i believe
So what can we look for on a spiritual level?
Is my next question to ~self~

Wordz of wisdom by Scott Alexander King:
PIG - The Underworld
"...The Pig was also the guardian of those who had taken the sacred journey to the Underworld, as the dearly departed, the ones who had shed their robes and left the physical plane to wait to be reborn once again at a later time. Taking into consideration its association with the last quarter of the moon and its relationship with the Underworld, Pig's Dreaming (Note: As in Aboriginal Dreamtime Dreaming) relates to the Goddess in her Crone aspect-the phase that is symbolic of wisdom and maturity that usually only comes when one is an elder- the knowledge that recognizes the fact that before there can be a spiritual rebirth of any sort, there has to be a divine "death"- an awakening that leads to an ending of the known sacred self. Mystical workings performed as the moon is waning are usually of the banishing kind, which generally refers to the act of mentally cleansing oneself of things that are no longer needed, such as an unwanted aspect of one's personality, ill health or outworn modes of thinking.
Once the cleansing is complete, the moon gathers in strength and size, symbolically welcoming new growth and a rebirth of the soul" *Excerpt from "Animal Dreaming"

It is my understanding that our beautiful Blue Planet is undergoing a spiritual ascension process, a revolution of sorts, if you like and it is also my understanding that this involves that we as participants in this process undergo much inner cleansing and releasing of out-moded styles of thinking and living of our lives... These times it has long been held in the understanding of The Wise Ones, to be the times of instant karma, the New World, where we have the energetic support to let go of the lifetimes of debt to ourselves, to step into the reality of being in the ~Now~ ...These are the times of learning that we each have the power to heal ourselves, that we are here to make use of illness on a spiritual level and move forward from it, to understand that it is an illusion to think that God punishes us... It is the time of stepping through the ~Illusion~ that has held us too long in the olde world ways ... These challenging times are here to help us, not hinder us, to teach us, not scare us...
Fear IS the illusion...
Even those not completely approving of this particular view, do still seem to acknowledge even so, that much is changing in our current world and that the way we have lived out our lives in the past, is no longer possible... That 'things' have to change...
And so we get what we ask for ...the experiences, the opportunities the ways to shift our thinking and move forward...
i remember once listening to the words of an Indian Guru talk (who spoke many years ago) of these our current times ...and he spoke of how, if we continued on with just a materialistic mindset and unaddressed individual spiritual purpose that we would, in these challenging times, find ourselves ~lost~ ...He spoke of the rush of the 'information technology Age' and how those without spiritual purpose might find themselves buried in fear, when science failed to have all the answers...
So what i am suggesting exactly? Perhaps that we each individually consider, that each action has a reaction and that there is purpose in these challenging times ahead... Spiritual purpose...
What if... these times were about rising above fear, what if these times were about finding that which is unwanted now and letting it go... What if this 'flu' was about ~cleansing~ and moving forward without the heavy stones tied to our feet... What if this virus was about each of us individually looking within, to our address our own dark Underworlds, to understand that these times are about our spiritual rebirth, about reaching into our sacred selves for strength... The kind of strength that keeps one safe in the dark times...
Did you notice that the news reports report that the elderly and young seem to be less affected by this outbreak? Perhaps this is too, on one level, a spiritual sign, about reaching to the knowledge of the elders (The Crone) and the wisdom of the ~young~ in order for us to move forward, away from fear and into the ~Light~ of The New World
Well, maybe some pigz will flY!

Vicki, there is SO much food for thought in your post - I LOVE it! It is interesting to observe how an "epidemic" warning is issued and suddenly people experience fear. I like how you took that and relected on how we need to be ensuring we are caring for our physical, mental and spiritual health at all times in order to avoid said epidemics. I need to read your post a couple of times because there is so much in it that causes me to think, but I have to say, I repeatedly found myself smiling as a new "wisdon" found its way into my psyche and soul! Thanks Vicki!
xoxoxo
Apparently it's in Canada too. I have a couple of sets of friends who have come back from Mexico in the last month or so ... yiks.
"These challenging times are here to help us"
Ms Posh, you and i will never agree, yet I keep coming here, wanting to know what it is that I might learn from you. I just posted an experience I had, and I thought of you when I was writing it, thinking that you --and a few others--would probably understand. Our biggest difference, I think, is that you see it all as benevolent, and I see it all as indifferent. Yet, I know what it is to bow in awe before it and to worship it.
One of the very great blessings of my blog is that so many of whose who keep coming there are so very different from me. Yet, they find value in what i have to say, and that touches me immensely.
Thanks for dropping by guys <3
and Snowbrush... i was once addicted to a website that was not my 'type' of website but it fascinated me to have such insight into another's so foreign point of view... i believe that although other people can make us feel uncomfortable sometimes, we are still all reflections of each other, all the same, on some level and connected and for that reason it is worth exploring to see what we can teach each other... All part of the human experience perhaps and what i love about the world of blogging X:-) Thanks for dropping by X:-)
