UPDATE 9.47am: RESIDENTS have woken to find their cars wrapped in cling wrap in an April Fool's Day stunt that swept inner-city Melbourne.
The cling-film bandits struck at popular shopping precincts, outside railway stations and in sought-after residential areas, tightly wrapping cars in the plastic wrap.
At least 28 cars were reportedly wrapped including one vehicle in Clarendon St in South Melbourne, another on Domain Rd, South Yarra, Church St, Richmond and again at Clifton Hill railway station.

Oh dear, I have an overwhelming urge to clinge wrap my husband's truck while he's putting the kids to bed..must control myself!
Too funny!
Awesome!!! I heard about this happening once in New York City - some guy had resigned from his company and on his last day of work, went out and found his car shrink wrapped! LOVE IT!
And yes...I would have fallen for the old Spider on your Head trick! My empathy on this one goes to your daughter :}
xoxoxo
I sort of forgot about April Fool's Day ... cling wrap much better then the alternative ... toilet paper.
How much fun the wrappers must have had.
Ha Ha spider - good one. I told my kids in school that they had a spelling test today. They were not supposed to have one until next week. But, I kept insisting that I told them we would have it today! I made them head their papers and number them and everything...Then I said, Number one...."April Fool's Day" "Today is April Fool's Day" We all had a good laugh and everyone was relieved!!
I actually would have preferred the spider trick. One of my staff told me that she was quitting today (when we are already short one staff!). All I could say was, "WHAT?" She replied - April Fool!
Ahhh the old i'm quitting work trick (said in Maxwell Smart voice!) Lol! ...and nothing like teacher getting one back for a change! Lara (my youngest) said they put a spider under the teachers desk and she was suitably scared X;-)
Love what you did with your daughter. The simplicity was genius.
Love Renee xoxo
Hee! Hee! i'm really an evil mum!
The spider on the head is a good one! I will have to remember it for next year :)
Did they ever say on the news who the wrappers were? Are those scissors they provided foe people to cut the stuff off? How polite of the pranksters!
