i've made a decision... at last

it came to me
in a moment of ~beauty~ today
as i sat with my surgeon
in his office

i have been trying to see the bigger picture
i have been trying to balance up the weight of the world
i have been trying to know everything all at once

i have been walking blind

it is one of the things that cancer has taught me
to slow down to the music of the moment
i don't need ~all~ the answers all at once now

i just need to take one day at a time

it's what my dad tried so ~beautifully~ to remind me
it's what my doctor says looking deep into my eyes
it's what my spiritual advise has always recommended

and it's what my ~heart~ sings to me as i lay my hand upon it

just to take each beautiful day
that i am given
and ~live~ it

...one day at a time
