Dear Vicki,

I was hoping you would show it. Since I was little I've always been interested in seeing people's scars. They fascinate me. My grandpa, he had a scar that went down the center of his chest from where they performed heart surgery three times. That's what I remember of that man--how all summer long he would walk bare chested doing yard work with his scar glistening white from his tanned skin. My grandmother didn't like it...but he always said, and I remember precisely, that that scar is the tattoo the doctors gave him that saved his life.

Peace & Love.

All battles leave scars, they are marks of honour and courage and survival.
Brave and beautiful...that is what I think when I look at this picture of you.
