i have always liked ~Moths~
"Said to be spirits in physical form according to Maori belief, the concept of Moths constantly trying to get to the light is indicative of their dreaming-residual or lingering energy. It is said that when the Creator was making the animals that were to inhabit the Earth, there was left over energy, and instead of just leaving it to return to the Universal Source, it was molded into form and became Moth. Ever since the Moth has never felt as if it truly belonged and has spent it's entire existence trying to return, literally, to the Light (hence the presence of Moths around any exposed, illuminated light-globe)- the One, the Source, Creator or Spirit."
...this excerpt in the book 'Animal Dreaming' by Scott Alexander King goes on to talk about cleansing oneself in the Aboriginal way using smoking or smudging to promote healing...
when i had my shower today
i noticed a tiny moth
with it's wings stuck to the glass of the shower door
i flicked it softly and freed it
and i watched as it waited until it's wings were dry enough
to fly off again...
it made me think about two things...
the first being the obvious
a whisper from the ancients of wise medicine
~thankyou~
the second
was how at first glance
if i could slip into the mind of this little guy
how he must have been thinking
how doomed his situation seemed
stuck by the only thing that gave his life meaning,
...then by some stroke of luck, or fate perhaps?
a sentient being came along and gave him his freedom with a simple
~flick~
how simple was the solution
and yet how difficult his impossible situation had seemed
perhaps to him
and then i thought about a lifetime spent searching
for the light...
and i wondered about
my wings
and feelings of belonging
and whether solutions could be so simple
for me too?

fabulous girl -- it seems like no moment in your life is mundane. How I wish I were as conscious to find such riches in everything. Thanks for being an eye opening example.
How are your kids and hubby doing? Don't know if you speak much about them here so if not, pay no mind to my asking.
